Maxillofacial and oral surgery is concerned with the treatment and care of patients with congenital, traumatic, malignant and other pathological conditions of the mouth and face.

Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery provides inpatient (ward) and outpatient (clinic) services.

The service is part of a multi-speciality team that manages patients in the Midland health region with major head and neck disorders, and children with cleft lip and palate.

Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery is part of Waikato Hospital’s Surgical Services cluster.

  • Ward M7, Level 7, Menzies Building (shared with plastics and reconstructive services)
  • Dental/Maxillofacial Clinic, Reception E, Meade Clinical Centre.

Referrals are by general practitioners (GPs) or other health specialists including Emergency Department doctors.

Non-acute (non-urgent) referrals will initially be seen at the Dental.Maxillofacial Clinic.
