SUDI Prevention Service
Sudden Unexpected Death of an Infant, often called SUDI, is the leading preventable cause of death in infants in Aotearoa. Primary health providers like Midwives, GP's & Well Child Tamariki Ora Nurse's help provide one on one guidence to all families they see regarding SUDI prevention. This SUDI Prevention service aims to support both whānau caring for an infant and Waikato based health and social practice workforce for the benefit of all whānau.
Supporting whānau with Safe Sleep:
Te Whatu Ora Waikato SUDI Prevention Services will support whānau to reduce SUDI by improving access to Safe Sleep Spaces, Specialist Breastfeeding Support and Pregnancy Education / Care.
